One Design Fleet

Welcome to the 2025 Sailing Season!

With a fleet of eight PYC owned Ideal 18 boats, Pequot has the most comprehensive adult sailing program of any yacht club on Long Island Sound. The PYC One Design program offers recreational sailing, clinics, private instruction, fleet racing, team racing, match racing and opportunities to participate in regattas both at Pequot and with other sailing programs across the Long Island Sound.

The One Design Committee is fortunate to have a strong committee of experienced Ideal sailors who regularly compete in fleet racing and have a long history of participation and leadership in the One-Design Program. Committee members serve as SAM Advisors, where each 1st and 2nd year Summer SAMs candidate(s) are assigned to an Advisor, who will support and guide them through the sailing season. 

Prior to sailing each year, all Sr. Members participating in the One Design Program must complete the Sailing Registration Form and SAM candidates must complete the SAM Waiver Document. All completed forms should be sent to the club administrator, so participants are added to the list of active program members.
