Junior Sailing
Mission Statement
The Pequot Junior Sailing Program teaches young sailors the essential elements of performance boat handling and seamanship. It instills in them a respect for the sea and the value of teamwork, cooperative learning and good sportsmanship. And, most importantly, the Pequot Junior Program creates sailors who will enjoy and contribute to the sport of sailing for their entire lives.
TEAM PEQUOT is our club culture which emphasizes the importance of teamwork and cooperative learning. Each sailor helps each other rig and launch the boats, works together on the towline, and de-rigs at the end of the day. No one leaves the dock until the whole class is finished and all boats are put away.

Supporting High School Sailing
Pequot Yacht Club hosts four local high schools; Fairfield Ludlowe and Fairfield Warde high schools, Greens Farms Academy and Fairfield Preparatory school. These schools are members in the Fairfield County Sailing League. There are two sailing seasons, the fall mostly fleet racing and the spring mostly team racing.
Pequot host the four schools’ meets. Each spring Pequot hosts the Fairfield Cup, a fleet race with two divisions of 420s, Radial Lasers and Full Lasers.
