Cruising Fleet

Pequot Yacht Club members own a diverse mix of cruising sailboats and power boats. Many of the boats in our fleet have undertaken extensive cruises over the years and many of our sailboats have competed successfully in numerous distance and offshore races, including Newport Bermuda, Marblehead Halifax, Block Island and the Vineyard. A few of our boats and several of our members have competed in Transatlantic races and/or the Fastnet Race.

Each year in late July, the Cruising Fleet gathers for the Club’s Annual Cruise, which is organized by the Cruising Committee. The Cruise offers our members the opportunity to sail in the company of like-minded yachts-people, enjoy time together on the water and at special venues on the water’s edge, and engage in friendly competitions of seamanship and nautical skills.

The details of this year’s Annual Cruise can be found under the tab entitled “Club Cruise”.

Additionally, Members are invited to participate in the PYC Cruising program.

PYC Cruising welcomes all members (including non-boat owners) on our afternoon and evening cruises. Our goal is to give members an opportunity to either actively participate or to just simply enjoy an afternoon or evening on the water by signing up to join "hosts" for a cruise on their boat. Dates will be on the PYC website calendar as they become available for registration. In addition to the mostly social focus of the Cruise Committee’s activities, the Race Committee organizes an extensive program of racing for “Big Boats”, the details of which can be found under the tab entitled “Big Boat Racing”.
